Riff: St. Vincent – “Bad Believer”

Jan 27, 2015

From the nave and down into the altar/I left my momma sitting in the pew/Knelt before the trembling pastor/Fainted as he touched my trembling hand

from Bad Believer lyrics by St. Vincent

I can see why this didn’t make the original cut for Clark’s self-titled – it’s just not as catchy, groovy, or interesting as the rest of that (killer) album. The added downfall of this late release is the fact that today’s pope just gets cooler by the day. C’est la vie – still worth a listen; [LISTEN].

Riff by Karl Ernest

Karl is a Seattle-based musician and writer at SONGLYRICS; a veteran of both east and west-coast scenes, he has performed with the likes of The Ying Yang Twins, David Arquette, Wynton Marsalis, among others. But he's no stranger to seedy dives or house shows, either.

What is a RIFF?
