Riff: Kendrick Lamar – “Poetic Justice feat. Drake”

Oct 23, 2012

Love is not just a verb and I can see power steering/Sex drive when you swerve, I want that interference

from Poetic Justice lyrics by Kendrick Lamar

A slow groove, with choppy hooks, crisp boom-baps, and sweet vocals. But still this one falls short. Drake‘s verse is solid as is Kendrick’s, but there are one too many cliches, not to mention a distance between the two that suggest this was nothing more than an internet collaboration.
