If you rendered down Prince, Missy Elliott and Saul Willaims into musical porridge you’d have Bilal. It’s a strange arrangement and a bit heavy handed, but well taken. Production wise it’s trying to keep up but it’s too far outside Younge’s comfort zone to resonate. Good idea, poorly executed.
