Coldplay are making sure they stay relevant with their new lyric video for “Miracles (Someone Special),” which — like their lyric video for “A L I E N S” — discusses the idea of immigration and the refugee crisis.

And, as they did on their song “Lost?” with JAY-Z, they invited a rapper to drop some bars in the middle of the song. This time, they tapped the talent of Big Sean, who begins his rap:

I paid my intuition

I couldn’t afford tuition

my funds was insufficient

It felt like I’m in prison

Until I realized I had to set my mind free

I was trusting statistics more than I trust me

The lyrics take on the idea of “making it” in the United States, which, as history has shown us, is the main reason most immigrants come to the country. The chorus looks at the potential within the people moving to the U.S. and how they could be successful:

Yeah you could be someone special
You’ve got bright in your brains and lightning in your veins
You’ll go higher than they’ve ever gone
In you I see someone special
You’ve got fire in your eyes and when you realize you’ll go further than we’ve ever gone
Just turn it on

The lyric video features historical photos of folks who have immigrated to the U.S. in the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as references to people who have overcome extreme adversity and left a positive mark on society, like Rosa Parks, Amelia Earhart, and Mother Teresa.

The band is clearly pro-immigration — all the proceeds from “A L I E N S” go toward the Migrant Offshore Aid Station, which has “rescued tens of thousands migrants and refugees from the Mediterranean,” according to the video.

“Miracles (Someone Special)” appears on Coldplay’s most recent EP, Kaleidoscope, which came out July 14, 2017.
