The future is now, friends. Meet ‘Giorgio Cam‘.

A handful of Google Creative Lab nerds, the driving financially-unmotivated influential force in the future of tech, in conjunction with Google’s “A.I. Experiments,” paired their love for house legend Giorgio Moroder and the joy of making machines do human things into an A.I. curiously fun oddity that churns out super hot observational jams.

Utilizing the camera on either your Android phone or your laptop via Google Chrome, the program, in its creator’s words,  “Is an experiment built with machine learning that lets you make music with the computer just by taking a picture.” It then, “uses image recognition to label what it sees, then it turns those labels into lyrics of a song.”

Full disclosure, it’s a little crude — in testing on this writer’s face, it freestyled the following robo jam and rhyme scheme hinged on a  “me” and “probably” formula it’s set up to do:

Looks like hair (99% confidence) to me/I’m seeing hair (95% confidence) probably

But, as with all machines doing human things, until they are our new overlords, my is it entertaining to watch them try to have a soul, especially with a Giorgio beat propelling things along. Give it a whirl why we still have the majority of creative control, and try not to think about a future Television karaoke show that pits man vs. a Billboard-charting machine.
