Ray Lawrence Jr. has been making music most of his life. He would tell you that the music is what saved him. At 15 it saved him from a life of sin, when he was sent away to a foster home after some trouble with the law. He found Merle Haggard and began to believe that music could be his salvation. Most recently, two of Ray's songs were released on Hank Williams III's CD Ghost to A Ghost. From that CD he has gotten a lot of attention, there seems to be a hole in the heart of country music just waiting to be filled. Maybe it's the right time for a singer like Ray...a man who touches everyday folks with his words, simple, true, and straight from the heart, a man whose music seems to come from another era, another time, when things were simpler and meant so much more.
