In a video series called “Dear Nick Jonas,” where Nick Jonas answers fan questions, he changes the lyrics to The Jonas Brothers‘ song “Lovebug” in order to answer a certain question.

It’s not entirely clear how Jonas is qualified to be answering relationship questions, but so goes celebrity status. When one fan asked for advice, he responded in song.

“Dear Nick,” asked one fan, who called himself “Mr. Do It For The Gram.” “I’m about to celebrate my one-year anniversary with the most perfect woman, but she hasn’t posted any photos of me yet on Instagram. How do I get her to claim me on social media?”

He, assuming he was now a relationship counselor and that people actually like The Jonas Brothers music, he decided to do a little throwback.

“Mr. Do It For The Gram,” he says in the video. “I’m going to take this back a little bit here.”

Now, the original first verse and chorus of “Lovebug” are:

Called you for the first time yesterday
I finally found the missing part of me
I felt so close but you were far away
Left me without anything to say

Now I’m speechless
Over the edge, I’m just breathless
I never thought that I’d catch this love bug again
Hopeless, head over heels in the moment
I never thought that I’d get hit by this love bug again

Not lyrics you’d call “out of the box” creative.

But in the video, he changes the lyrics, addressing Mr. Do It For The Gram’s problem:

Called you for the first time yesterday

But you didn’t post a picture on social media

So now I’m gonna have to say OK.

‘Cause one year’s just so nice, and you’re so sweet

So would you post a picture of us on the coastline?

Maybe we could go a long time – if you post the gram

Just one photo of you and I all cuddled up, looking like a couple pups

Yeah, do it for the gram

Not much better, but I’m sure the fan got a kick out of it.
