Dylan Lyric Tome

Greatness never dies and for the few who’ve transcended pop culture the way Bob Dylan has the love just gets more decadent over time. After 50 years his narrative continues to write itself with a slew of attention grabbing headlines – each more wildly entertaining than the other, from the auctioning of original lyrics and a hilarious cover by Bill Murray to a bunch of scientists pulling off one of the greatest inside jokes of all time.

Now, Dylan has yet another piece of memorabilia to commemorate a career that has been nothing short of legendary. Simon & Schuster will be publishing a book that will feature every Bob Dylan lyric ever. That’s over 50 years worth of music in one publication.

Entitled The Lyrics: Since 1962, the book will weigh in at 13 pounds and contain 960 pages, featuring original lyrics as well as alternate versions from Dylan’s bootleg series. According to Simon & Schuster’s webpage it’ll also feature full color album art from every record as well as annotated lyrics as Bob Dylan wrote, recorded and performed them.

The book retails for $200, but there’s also a limited edition autographed version available for $5000. In other words it’s no regular old coffee table book, it’s a tome dedicated to one of the greatest living musicians of all time. This is an opportunity to see Dylan’s lyrics like they’ve never been seen before – there are even instances were you can see where he edited some of his most iconic verses. It’s a slice of history that will look to capture and eulogize Dylan’s most priceless attributes, his words.
