1000 Clowns is a four-person rap group most famous for singing the songs "(Not The) Greatest Rapper", which appeared on the Good Burger soundtrack, and "Kitty Kat Max" (which samples For What It's Worth by Buffalo Springfield), which was their debut single, released in late 1997.
The members of the group are backing vocalists and sisters Anita and Michelle, and lead singer/rapper Kevi. The DJ for the group and also co-producer of many songs is DJ Mr. Pao.
Based in Los Angeles, 1000 Clowns came to the attention of Elektra Records during one of their rare live performances. 1000 Clowns had played a total of four dates, all at the Viper Room. Within months of being discovered, work began on Freelance Bubblehead.
