We found a house with a yard
And moved all of my things in
And most of your things in..
Honey, I was proud of it
Honey, I was proud of you...

You quote the good book
When it's convenient
But you don't have the sense, no
You don't have the sense
To tie your tangled tongue
Instead you're slashing through the mud

Some boxes, that
Hand-me-down couch and chair
That used to be at your church
We borrowed them from there
A cabinet record player with nothing but James Taylor
Tore the carpets from the corners
To put in that hard wood floor
I'd be a fool to of asked for more

You quote the good book
When it's convenient
But you don't have the sense, no
You don't have the sense
To tie your tangled tongue
Instead you're slashing through the mud

You quote the good book
When it's convenient
But you don't have the sense, no
You don't have the sense
To tie your tangled tongue
Instead you're slashing through the mud

(Yeah honey I was proud of you...
Instead you're slashing through...)

The love you had was good enough
The past that we were stuck between
Beside myself I stop to think,
Lord what have I done

You quote the good book
When it's convenient
But you don't have the sense, no
You don't have the sense
Yo tie your tangled tongue
Instead you're slashing through the mud

You quote the good book
When it's convenient
But you don't have the sense, no
You don't have the sense
To tie your tangled tongue
Instead you're slashing through the mud

chick from eisleys name starts with a 'C' i believe. I forget it also though.
I was with his recent tour for two weeks and saw him with his new lady and baby and he looked really happy. I'm sure this situation still haunts him but jeez, i wish it wouldn't. He's gotta cute fam.

It's pretty simple lyrics the chorus is catchy; if only there was more verses, but I absolutely love the music and vocal arrangement. (^_~)v

I saw them play this last night.
Before they started it, Adam said that it used to be so hard for him to play this song, but it's getting easier.
The emotion he puts into it though, it really got me.

I think the song is about a relashionship between two people and they ended up stuck in the same time period and couldnt get out so it was over and now he's looking back and woundering what happened that made the relashionship so bad. This is my favorite song on the cd, i love taking back sunday :-)

This song I believe is looking back at his love and remembering good times and things he could have done to make it work but its too late. And now he's stuck in his ways and cant go back. Great song, best on the album.

Well.... the lyrics aren't comparable to the enigma or anything, their pretty obvious. Whether he's talking about himself or what i don't know but it's a badass tune. Fucking passionate to the bone, an almost unbearable weight.

he has a wife, Misha, she's a great girl.
and lived in Texas for most of her life...i would hope he's not singing about another girl-that'd be kidna rough on her. They also have a gorgeous son together.

This Song relates to my life way too much i cried da first 2 times I listened to it. I'm just happy somebody's got the nards to come out and say it. The fact that he fell to his knees and screamed this at the concert makes me ache...

I almost cried, I'm so stupid to only realize how painful it is to make this song. Adam Lazzara is so brave.

Great song and also sad. The song itself brings me back to the first album tell all your friends as in the lyrics and all unlike the rest of this album.

I never heard this song before I went to their show the other night. Adam fell to his knees and screamed most of the song. The moshers all kind of stopped and just listened. A very emotional, very sad song.
Just thinking about that night, and seeing the emotional tole is took on Adam Lazzara makes my heart ache.
And the "chick in Eisley's" name is Chantelle Dupre.
And it's obvious, she's religious, ("You quote the Good Book") and didn't agree with the way he lived his life.

It is about the girl from Eisley (can't remember her name for the life of me).

Pretty sure they were engaged - and they wound up splitting over her issues with the way Adam lived his life.

A lot of the album is about it.

Its probably bout his breakup from that chick in Eisley, I dont know her name though

I think its about a couple buying a house and putting in it what they could.
Then something like a fight starting and then the girl walking out

Im probs wrong tho, but I love this song :)
