Sharissa Dawes (born 1976) is an American singer. She released a debut album No Half Steppin through Motown Records in 2002 which earned two charting singles. Her second album Every Beat of My Heart saw a Japan-only release in 2005 through Virgin Records. Sharissa has started working on her third album, All or Nuth'n.
Sharissa was born in Brooklyn, New York to Jamaican parents.
Sharissa sang as a child both in Brooklyn where she was born and in the Bronx where she grew up. Her dad called her "Little Stevie Wonder," as she sang to her neighbors in the Edenwald Projects.
