great song, and yes I love the lyrics brave and simple genius, but it's for each individual listener to reflect or respond to any piece of music in their own way

To the guy who just discovered... do yourself a favor, go get Yield and Riot Act. Imo their best two albums. You won't listen to anyrhing else for months.

he said in an interview that trying to fix everything is something most males do. it isn't a positive. it's a way of reminding himself that he doesn't need to fix everything.

Dudes who think that the lyrics are too simple are obviously too simple-minded themselves to see past face value and realise the deeper meaning behind the simple lyrics. See, it's like this.

When all the unfavourable shits goin on (stuff being dark or old or cold or broke etc) he just wants to fix them and restore them to their original quality. Simple as that. It's just his natural response to do so. And likewise, when something's lost (i.e. He's having troubles with his girl), he's gonna fight to get it back again, and that's the only thing that matters to him. We've all been in relationships and know that they can be hard going and extremely complicated, but he's not worrying about any of that, he's just gonna fight to get it back again because that's what's important to him. The simplicity of the lyrics is supposed to be like a metaphor, or an image, that demonstrates that he wants it back again and it's as simple as that.

OMG i thought it was good, it had a great beat, and the lyrics are sweet, Go Pearl jam, there the best, well second best from Red Hot Chili Peppers!!!

the songs is not "pop" it's "vintage"..
haven't you heard "gremmie out of control"? or "mankind" from "no code" albums?
variety is the "Seattle" style baby..!! :)

anyone who says this is too "pop" but thinks "last kiss" is a good song (a cover of a 50's POP song) is a total idiot.

Is this the same early 90's PJ? Of course not. They're not 20 anymore. They've grown and matured. I think this song is excellent. Catchy doesn't always mean "pop." I love his vocals and the simplicity of the lyrics.

I find this to be the most annoying song since Blinded by the light, and forever negatively impacts my feelings about PJ.

i dont know why you is say this song is "poppy". the song is actually brilliant the lyrics are creative and incorperate well with the title and riffs.

Too Pop for Vedder. I like it, but they have so many better, more original songs: Jeremy, Once, Alive, Oceans, Animal, Last Kiss, Review Mirror, Daughter, Betterman, Corduroy... (Anything off of Ten and VS. blows this song out of the water)

Good song, but imo really not that great the lyrics seem way to simple. Like really not a lot of thought was put into it. I mean for instance the word "yeah" appears 38 times, Jesus dude could they put more filler in the song. >.<

I dig it, tho I didn't care to much for worldwide suicide. I've been listening to pearl jam since I was about 4 or 5. They will always be one of my favorite bands, I can't wait till it drops.

Crows - Awesome new tune in my opinion, heard them sing it live at the O2 London and it gave me wood. A return to the sound of Ten, almost. Ed can wail like no other frontman, and I for one hope the rest of Backspacer contains tracks where he screams like only he can.

Song is simple. Lyrics are brilliant.
I feel its about a relationship grown stale, but an affirmation that this person intends to fight to get things back to where they were before.

Seems fairly obvious from the "I want to try to love again" and how they are trying to save a lifetime.

Good stuff, I'm hooked. Haven't been this entranced by a PJ song since Vs.
