so, at first i thought it was a coincidence that he sounded a lot like ben gibbard from death cab, but then i realised that the last line is totally a shout out to a death cab song called "a lack of color".

The lyrics arent that hard to interpret. He's talking about the euphoria he gets while dreaming. Sometimes it's hard to wake up from a good thing. He's talking about how he meets some fireflies who then in turn teach him how to dance, until finally departing with them when it's time to wake up. He's having so much fun that he actually believe time is slowing down instead of speeding up. You know the old saying, 'Time always flies when you're having fun' Need I say more?
