Riff: The Twilight Sad – “There’s a Girl in the Corner”

Aug 29, 2014

There’s a girl in the corner/And she’s crying for you/Gonna die for you/She’s not coming back/She’s not coming back from there

from There's a Girl in the Corner lyrics by The Twilight Sad

Sounds like Morrissey covering Radiohead‘s “All I Need,” only sadder – and vaguely centered around an unhappy girl who’s, surprise, sitting in a corner. The lyricism here is also far surpassed by its obvious inspiration. It’s actually okay overall, but a blatant melodic copy nonetheless.
