Riff: The Joy Formidable – “The Hurdle”

Jan 22, 2013

I lost a place that I loved/It disappeared into the woods where it belonged

from The Hurdle lyrics by The Joy Formidable

Further proof that Wolf’s Law is at one with nature, “The Hurdle” begins with the sound of footsteps in the snow before a lolloping bassline and pounding tribal drum leads into a galloping chorus which bemoans the destruction of a ‘land of milk & honey’ that what else but ‘crumbles like putty.’
