Riff: Skrillex feat. Damian Marley – “Make it Bun Dem”

Jan 30, 2013

If you juxtaposin, I wouldn’t suppose it/Get on the floor, let’s get on the floor

from Make it Bun Dem lyrics by Skrillex feat. Damian Marley

Given dubstep’s roots in dub and reggae, this collaboration makes sense. Dropping the robot-sex-sounds, this subtler groove shows promise but is ultimately doomed. It’s repetitive and boring. Skrillex’s output is draining him of ideas, and Marley acts again as a phoned-in stereotype.
