Riff: Owl City – “Good Time”

Oct 3, 2012

Whoa-oh-oh-oh, Whoa-oh-oh-oh/It’s always a good time

from Good Time lyrics by Owl City (feat. Carly Rae Jepsen)

Adam Young’s pen is as witty as Rebecca Black‘s “Friday.” And the cheesy, synth-based house-tempo beat is an aural migraine. However, I applaud him for trying something different in his sound than cloning The Postal Service. “A” for effort, “D” for execution.

Riff by Karl Ernest

Karl is a Seattle-based musician and writer at SONGLYRICS; a veteran of both east and west-coast scenes, he has performed with the likes of The Ying Yang Twins, David Arquette, Wynton Marsalis, among others. But he's no stranger to seedy dives or house shows, either.
