Riff: Lil Uzi Vert – “Mood”

Jan 9, 2018

Best rockstar, on time hope that I don’t die/’Cause I’m immortal/Too bad you a mortal (too bad, too bad)/No wonder, you normal

from Mood lyrics by Lil Uzi Vert

Lil Uzi Vert lashes out at all the haters trying to knock him off his stride. They’re coming out in droves and jabbing at him with ill intent. Nevertheless he looks at it as par for the course, and believes that the pressure is what is making him thrive. At one point he calls himself a god and all the naysayers are the mortals who are jealous of his abilities; proudly displaying his wealth and power as proof of his divine status. All the bellyaching sounds even softer over the light beat, which is a total package that reflects weakness rather than strength. He’s bound by the critics and without them he would have little to rap about.
