Riff: Kid Cudi – “King Wizard”

Jan 2, 2013

I can’t ever front, know why?/It’s not my style, no lie/Fuck all the talk/In time, they’ll burn

from King Wizard lyrics by Kid Cudi

Kid Cudiis a bit conflicted here, tossed back and forth between styles – ones that he likely picked up from contemporaries like Kendrick Lamar and to some extent Chief Keef. He forgoes self-deprecation for braggadocio, and lyrically it’s not his best work. It fails to resonate across all fronts.
