Riff: Beck – “No Distraction”

Oct 17, 2017

It’s not the objects that I hold in my possession/It’s not the worldly things that shine/Sometimes the worst will come and bring us back together/Well, hold me up and get me through the night

from No Distraction lyrics by Beck

No frills lyricism, one man begging for a second chance. He’s setting all distractions aside, letting her know that she’s the only one he needs. Unconvinced, she’s refusing to fork over the goods. In response he’s reassuring her that he is aware of all the bullheaded things he’s done, like putting trivial matters ahead of her. A reminder that the only thing worth fighting for is love.
