While R. Kelly sits on the 32 additional chapters of hip-hopera “Trapped in the Closet” he’s trumpeting in interviews, the scandalous R&B heavyweight is seeding the intranets with tantalizing bits of his next project, a back to 12 Play (1993) provocative push he told the AP, dubbed – wait for it – “Black Panties.” Mind you, this is a dude once accused of 14 counts of child pornography. Though whatever light is left in his proverbial closet is not so much a revelation any more. Especially with awesome quotes like so:
“When you’ve done twenty-something years, man, of giving people what they want, and satisfying people – people like to say they’re making babies off your music, they’re doing all this – it makes me feel good, but at the same time, it makes me say, ‘OK, now it’s time to go and do something that’s in me that I want to do and get out.”
And that’s just fun in the in first-person. The 45-year-old artist now drops sentiments in the third-person, as well. “Make no mistake about it, R. Kelly is not going anywhere, it’s just that R. Kelly has such a unique talent, and I’ve been blessed to be able to do all type of genres of music. I’m exploring my gift right now,” he additionally told the AP.
So here’s to the future babies that will be made to “Black Panties,” we suppose. Go get ‘em, R. Kelly. And for kicks, how’s about a “Trapped in the Closet” chapter the first revisit?
