With the sun making a longer appearance on Sunday, The Flaming Lips swan song-ed the last day of the three day Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival with their life-is-short classic, “Do You Realize:”

With a great weekend coming to a culmination, Wayne Coyne took the showman reigns like he always does in that giant hamster ball bubble he loves so, this time serenaded by the Lips back on stage covering The Beatles’ “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.”

Elsewhere in Golden Gate Park in the final stretches of the genre crossing fest’s lineup garage punk brother duo The Bots had a memorable set, likewise with electronic Australian DJ Flume, rainbow clad indie-folk songwriter Jenny Lewis, English singer Ben Howard with electronica and house DJ Green Velvet dropping beats in the Hienekin DJ dome. Closing proper were Las Vegas rock band The Killers, while electronic dance DJ Tiesto had attendees dancing the night away.

Stay tuned for a larger piece to follow, for a full SONGLYRICS analysis of the weekend!
