It’s been a big year for Drake, and the news just keeps getting better. With the success of “Nice for What” the ‘Six God’ himself has surpassed fellow pop superstar Bruno Mars as the artist who has (for this decade) spent the most weeks at #1 on the Billboard’s Hot 100.

Drake’s latest singles “God’s Plan” and “Nice for What” have spent a combined 33 weeks atop the Billboard. According to hiphopdx.com, “The other songs that helped him break the record are ‘One Dance‘ (10 weeks at #1) as well as his collaborations with Rihanna, ‘Work‘ (9 weeks) and ‘What’s My Name‘ (one week).”

When “God’s Plan” was released earlier in the year it debuted at #1 and held the top spot for 11 weeks before being dethroned by “Nice for What,” which has been at the top spot for about two weeks. “God’s Plan” has been a massive hit for Drake; the song is now eligible for 7x platinum in the U.S., and the video has garnered over 445 million views on YouTube.

According to Billboard, “Among all acts, only Rihanna has totaled more weeks at the top spot this decade: 41.” Other notable acts who have eclipsed the 40-week mark include Usher, Mariah Carey, and The Beatles.

All the hype that Drake has been accumulating is giving him all the pub he needs for his forthcoming album Scorpion, which is expected to drop in June. If the stars continue to align, Scorpion will likely house another slew of Billboard hits, which means that the ‘Six God’ will continue to shatter records on The Billboard.
