70s Kings of “Rawk,” Aerosmith, are back after an eight-year hiatus with a new LP, their 15th, dubbed Music from Another Dimension (Columbia; November 6). Teasing the news along is a first taste via digital single “Legendary Child,” a glory days Toys In The Attic (1975) sludgy pop number they do best. Referencing lyrics from “Walk This Way” and “Toys in the Attic,” Steven Tyler struts, “I took a chance with a high school dance/Never knowing wrong from right” within the first minute of the song. Fun fact #1: the song was originally recorded in 1991 during sessions for Get a Grip. But is only now getting used. Fun fact #2: the forthcoming film G. I. Joe: Retaliation will feature the song, as well. Otherwise, give it a listen and chime in on the comments on what “dimension” the new tune comes from in your own words.
