Nayobe Catalina Gomez, known professionally Nayobe (born 1968 in Brooklyn, New York) is a U.S. singer of Afro-Cuban heritage.
In the early part of 1985 Nayobe became the first Latin American female to record a Freestyle song called "Please Don't Go" which was produced by Andy Panda. Some music critics incorrectly declare her record the first song of the genre, given the fact that "Let the Music Play" by Shannon was actually the first or even further back to Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force's 1982 "Planet Rock".
