Muse - Uprising Lyrics

Artist: Muse

Album: The Resistance

  • Songwriters: Matt Bellamy

The paranoia is in bloom, the PR
Transmissions will resume, they'll try to
Push drugs, keep us all dumb down and hope that
We will never see the truth around, so come on

Another promise, another scene, another
Package not to keep us trapped in greed with all the
Green belts wrapped around our minds and endless
Red tape to keep the truth confined, so come on

They will not force us
And they will stop degrading us
And they will not control us
We will be victorious, so come on

Interchanging mind control, come let the
Revolution take its toll, if you could
Flick a switch and open your third eye, you'd see that
We should never be afraid to die, so come on

Rise up and take the power back, it's time that
The fat cats had a heart attack, you know that
Their time is coming to an end, we have to
Unify and watch our flag ascend, so come on

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious, so come on

Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

They will not force us
They will stop degrading us
They will not control us
We will be victorious, so come on

Hey, hey, hey, hey

What does this song mean to you?

I'm sure the fat cats they are talking about are corporate fat cats, but it should mean fat cat politicians. In this country, we don't practice class warfare out of jealousy. You also can't have a real political revolution if government keeps advancing in the same direction it has been for the past 50 years. Clinton (nafta, china),Bush (patriot act, Illegal immigration) and Congress may have driven us off into a ditch, but that's better than Obama driving us off a cliff. The mind control they talk about is the politically correct media.

    Go Tea Party

The lyrics to this song are obviously about a revolt, rising up against an oppressive government. "Rise up and take the power back, it's time the fat cats had a heart attack" How could they mean anything else?
Don't overthink the song lyrics, people...if you open your mind, they're pretty obvious.

Its about how psychiatry is destroying people...the song is about becoming aware of the real threat..psychological warfare against the masses to keep them enslaved.

I don't know what this song is about politically or historically. All I know is that I don't have to be afraid to stand up against social injustice. I listen to this song every morning on my way to work because it gives me the strength to deal with the psychotic power hungry manipulative deceiving and compulsive liar of a boss I have. After all is said and done, I will be victorious.

This song is about the NWO. The government is going to keep taking us over until someone puts a stop to it.
