BLUBE IS A GREAT BLUBE, BUT A SINATRA HE ISN'T, NO ONE IS...so that's not to dis Michael in anyway...Sinatra had an amazing sense of lyric as many did from his era. He didn't require overblown, over produced orchestration. When Michael performs this tune live, he is visibly struggling with it...at times the arrangement is too big for him. During a his X-factor performance you could see that he wanted to improvise a note here and there, but he never committed. I don't think the song is too big for him given the right treatment, but certainly that arrangement is too big for him. And, finally it was never meant to be a Bond song.

Guys here praising Mickey Buble for this song! Your ignorance is mind numbing. What about paying the dues to Arthur Hamilton, the original song writer (who first published the song in 1953)? And Mickey is now at par with Frank Sinatra, Eeh? Weigh your words carefully before spilling it out

It's sadly typical of the musical decline that this piece of fluff is considered good. Nowadays, there must be American Idol screaming within the first 8-16 bars, or people think it's just Muzak, I guess. This arrangement is so gimmicky they opted for two endings, in case anyone noticed that Cry Me A River should not end with a circus chord. Buble has a pleasant but strangely constricted voice, little sense of rhythm, no understanding of the story that each song must tell. To compare him to Sinatra is to compare Harry Potter to Shakespeare.
