I believe this song is very deep... From what i've been through i can relate and i feel it is talking about pain. He is in pain because he feels the only one he loves is abandoned him... And he want's a reason that will get him through life without her. Because the pain is so great and he needs something to fill his empty void that she left because the truth of her leaving is so real and he knows he'll never have her back...

I think this song is about 'The Fallen' trying to harvest our sun even though his brothers didnt dare take a sun from an inhabited planet because of lyrics like 'black skies' 'ashes fell like snow' but I dont know for sure but this is undoubtably my favorite song ever!!!!

These lyrics are mostly correct except "the distance in your eyes." I've been listening to it over and over and it sounds like "the distance in the race/rise" but it's hard to figure out. But it's not, "your eyes" just waned to point out. XD I love this song and have been listening to Linkin Park since the beginning. I still love their music and find myself going back to Hybrid Theory.
