Tomorrow is International Day of Peace. I plan to play this song at the beginning of every (high school) class that I teach all day. I hope that our conservative town is ready!!!

I play this song every year on New Year. At 12.00 midnight exactly. Join me in this wonderful way of beginning a new year, where ever you are know that we share this message so many years after John Lennon wrote Imagine.

John Lennon’s song “Imagine” is a beautiful message of peace. “Imagine there’s no countries it isn’t hard to do.” John Lennon wrote this song in a time of war and rebellion. Thousands were dying in the war in Vietnam, racial segregation was abolished, and the KKK returned. In these times of division and hatred he stopped to ask the question, “Imagine all the people sharing all the world,” a hard concept for the baby boomer generation to grasp. I feel that the message in “Imagine” is eternal. I can listen to this song and relate it to the world today. All of the current issues: the economy failing, the war in Iraq, banning gay marriage, could be solved if there was no countries or religion. John Lennon was a dreamer and wanted the “world live as one.” I only hope that our generation could take this message and put his imaginations into actions. "woo hoo Lee"
