Jonny Diaz - More Beautiful You Lyrics

Artist: Jonny Diaz

Album: More Beautiful You

Genre: Christian

  • Songwriters: Jonny Diaz, Kate York

Little girl fourteen flipping through a magazine
Says she wants to look that way
But her hair isn't straight, her body isn't fake
And she's always felt overweight

Well, little girl fourteen I wish that you could see
That beauty is within your heart
And you were made with such care, your skin, your body and your hair
Are perfect just the way they are

There could never be a more beautiful you
Don't buy the lies, disguises and hoops, they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you

Little girl twenty one the things that you've already done
Anything to get ahead
And you say you've got a man but He's got another plan
Only wants what you will do instead

Well, little girl twenty one you never thought that this would come
You starve yourself to play the part
But I can promise you there's a man whose love is true
And He'll treat you like the jewel you are

There could never be a more beautiful you
Don't buy the lies, disguises and hoops, they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you, more beautiful you

So turn around you're not too far
To back away be who you are
To change your path go another way
It's not too late, you can be saved
If you feel depressed with past regrets
The shameful nights hope to forget
Can disappear, they can all be washed away

By the one who's strong, can right your wrongs
Can rid your fears dry, all your tears
And change the way you look at this big world
He will take your dark distorted view
And with His light, He will show you truth
And again you'll see through the eyes of a little girl

That there could never be a more beautiful you
Don't buy the lies, disguises and hoops, they make you jump through
You were made to fill a purpose that only you could do
So there could never be a more beautiful you
There could never be a more beautiful you

As a husband and father, I hope every woman and girl everywhere would listen and take this song to heart. The biggest lie you are told is that guys want women to do all this stuff to themselves. THAT IS A LIE. We want you just the way you are. No man that wants you to change your appearance is worth a second of your time.
When all is said and done, there is only One who matters and He loves you just the way you are, exactly as He made you.

yeah that's true!! sometimes you think that the comments of the other people is more important than God's comments but this song made me realize that maybe make up and clothes make u be "beautiful" but it's just an artificial thing and the better thing is who you are inside!! feel beautiful! and then you will look beautiful outside!!:)

This song can change anyones heart if you just listen and accept that these lyrics are true. I'm 13 and attended a lock in at my church. The sermons were talking about these type of things and the temptations of this world. We sang this song there and all the girls enjoyed it. We took home a book called "graffiti - learning to see the art in ourselves" by Erin Davis. Every girl between the ages of 9 to 99 should read this book:) [granted, it is geared towards teenage girls, but it still is an inspirational read]

I have three daughters and growing up in now a days ages all they see is those magazines and how pretty the girls look in them. My oldest is almost 9 and she was already wanting to change the way she looked. One day I was flipping through radio stations and found KLove. While listening to that station I heard this song. I went on iTunes and downloaded it with other songs and burned them to a cd. So now when we get in our car we listen to that cd and it beings such joy listening to my three girls singing along with the songs on that cd. My girls love this song and my oldest now doesn't want to change who she is. She is beautiful the way she is she says now. Thank you God and Johnny Diaz for the courage and strenght you've given my girls to be happy and proud to be the way they are!

When I heard this song for the first time I cried and I'm crying right now as I listen to it and read everyone's comments. I'm 14 and have always felt overweight and I've always been concerned with what other people think about me... especially what guys think of me. This song reminds me that I should only be concerned with what God thinks of me.. and guess what? HE LOVES ME!! I am beautiful no matter what the world says. GOD BLESS!

I'm only 12, but i've listened to this song, and i've kinda forced my best friend to listen to this, and it's changed her. She no longer feels like she has anything wrong with who she is, and i feel the same way. We no longer feel like we need to change how we look, but makeup now and then won't hurt! :3

I heard this song for the first time this morning & WOW, it says everything I have been trying to tell my daughter for years. I want her to listen to the lyrics to understand what a very special young lady she is and that I am very blessed to be her mom and to know that God had a purpose for her from even before she was conceived.

Ever wake up in the morning with a song in your head? This morning I woke up with the chorus '..you were born to fill a purpose that only you could do, there could never be a more beautiful you...' Just more confirmation for me that my change in careers is the right thing. I have to stop pursuing paths that the most influential people in my life have been imposing on me, because it may not be what God called nor equipped me to do. I will trust God and allow him to use me to His bigger plan. The body of Christ IS alive.

This song is beautiful! It has changed the way I look at myself. God made me perfectly the way i am, so why try to change anything? All the years of low self-esteem and idolizing models are gone! "He will take your dark distored view and with His light He will show you truth..." --my favorite verse! God bless you Jonny Diaz, you have touched soo many peoples lives including mine!

This song is exactly what I needed to hear. Especially the line about past regrets. I have so many...and when it got to that line I just started bawling. It's nice to be reminded that God thinks I'm worth it, even if I don't.

    wow..
this song is totally relatable to me.
i am a 14 year old girl, thinking i am so unimportant and not beautiful.
when i read these lyrics and listened to the song,
    i broke down crying.
it reminds me of God's great love and how no matter what we look like on the outside,
    God thinks we are beautiful.
    wow.
I am in love with Jesus Christ.

you don't have to be a teenager to be touched by this song. I am 42, and there are days when I don't feel so beautiful or valued. The first time I heard this song, I cried and cried, because I had just broken up with a man I liked very much, but he wasn't treating me with respect. This song reminds me that no matter what, Christ Jesus thinks I am beautiful and special, and that's what matters the most.

When i heard this song i was emotional. I myself a 14 yr old have lately been struggling with my appearance and how people see me not only as a christian but as a friend. God has helped me understand that i dont need to look like those famous people and have the nice hair and clothes but the beauty is really inside my heart. I thank my friends and most of all God for helping me understand. By no means do i say that you cant look beautiful(makeup, clothes...etc)but the real beauty is in your heart:)

I has heard this song a few times but finally really listened to the lyrics this morning as I was driving my 13 y.o. Daughter to school. She is having a difficult time entering Jr. High as a 7th grade student with the 8th grade boys being so awful to them. I also have a 21 y.o. Daughter who has Bern through a world of hurt in a horrible break up with her boyfriend. So this song seemed to fit both my daughters at the same time. I just gas to look up the lyrics and read them for this song. Wow...

At age 50, you wouldn't think this song would have such a profound affect on me....thank you for putting into words what EVERY girl (or grown woman) needs to hear and take to heart. I cry every time I hear the song played. God bless you!

Having three daughters myself and the oldest being 17, I can remember her going through a tough time beginning at age 14. She was saved at a young age and at age 14 the flesh began the battle with her heart. I am thankful to say that the heart is winning. She still has struggles at 17 but her heart has grown stonger because she has allowed GOD to reign in her life and has never been ashamed of HIM. She is a senior in High School this year and I pray that she continues on her journey for God, the one who will love her unconditionally. Thank You for the song, it brought back memories of her struggling at age 14 and how God has helped her overcome. I pray this song will help other young ladies battling the flesh as well.
