I don't get it it doesn't rele have anything to do with children of divorce my parents are divorced and I hate it but that doesn't even describe the anger and hurt I have or any of kids I know that their parents r divorced.

Actually, I know the girl that this was written about personally. And 40%-50% of the songs he writes are about her, including this one.

the song is about a him being an alcoholic and the mother wont let him see his kid unless he gets his life right and marries her.

He wrote this song about himself and his situation with not seeing his baby. BUT, the whole "Children of Divorce" concept is kind of a back story thing. The girl he got pregnant was a child of divorce, and that's why she was so messed up.

This song is beautiful, and sung by Jonny Craig. I believe the song is actually about his friend and what he went through. What he's saying is that his girlfriend got pregnant but he wouldn't be able to see the child. The girl wants the man out of his life and away from their daughter, but he wants to be there for their baby. Maybe one day, she'll know her father's name?
