I Thank God For The Little Things
by Jessica Patrick Elam
Down on the farm where the bluegrass grows
a little stream runs by the way, I sat upon the ground and watched the chipmunks play, the birds were singing and the bees were buzzing on the wild flowers in the field and the water ripples down by the way
and I thanked God for the little things
For the birds singing in the afternoon, and the, springtime flowers that bloom, for the gentle touch of my children's kiss upon my cheek,
for the rain that falls and the sun that shines
and the breeze blowing on the mountain side,For the memories that I hold so tight, Oh I thank God for the little things
I can see my children playing in the field chasing butterflys and dancing around, surrounded by the bright sunshine from the heavens above, I saw a rainbow in the sky, Oh what a wonderous site and the leaves fell to the ground as the cool wind blew
Oh I Thank god for the little things
Down in the valley the church bell rings, a call to worship him and sing and the sky above is painted perfect blue, It's a perfect place to sit and rest thank God and meditate on the simple things we tend to forget, Oh I thank God For The Little Things
