the only way to express these extreme emotions is with extreme imagery, all of which is fantasism and nothing in the song is based on reality.

I don't know. sounds like an abusive relationship that the victim has decided can't be escaped or that they deserve it. she's good, great even, but this song is slightly disorienting with the message it seems to have that staying in an abusive relationship is better than having no relationship at all. But no one deserves to be hit.
