Flobots - Rise Lyrics

Artist: Flobots

Album: Fight With Tools

  • Songwriters: Stephen Malloy Brackett, Andy Guerrero, Jamie Laurie, Kenny Ortiz, Mackenzie Roberts, Jesse Walker

So much pain
We don't know how to be but angry
Feel infected like we've got gangrene
Please don't let anybody try to change me

Me, just me, in the middle of a sea full of faces
Full of faces, some laugh, some salivate
What's in your alleyway
Recycling bins or bullet cases?

It's not equal, it's not fair
We're different people but we're not scared
We ain't never scared to pave a new path
Make a new street, build a new bridge

Say, can you see by the dawns early light?
Free slaves running, songs words weren't right
Now, a new days coming
The few stay stunning while the many are handsome
Your soul is alive but they want it for ransom

The bass drumming is the anthem
We step to the heartbeats
Of our granddaughters and grandsons
And

Rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise

Together we rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise

Lost hope and found need
Grounded by our surroundings
Did the walls scream, universities
Or you and I verse the tees?

React, automatic and we burst when squeezed
And make 9-11 each emergency
Urgency, amber to red like the turning leaves
Oh please, let the hurting cease

Don't let apathy police the populace
We will march across
Those stereotypes that were marked for us
The answer's obvious, we switch the consonants
And change the sword to words and lift continents

Rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise

Rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise
Together we rise, together we rise

If you believe in redemption
(Rise, rise)
I'm calling to you from another dimension
(Rise, rise)

If you believe in redemption
(Rise, rise)
I'm calling to you from another dimension
(Rise, rise)

If you believe in redemption
(Rise, rise)
I'm calling to you from another dimension
(Rise, rise)

If you believe in redemption
(Rise, rise)
I'm calling to you from another dimension
(Rise, rise)

lol? Ignorance? he/she show ignorance?. Prograssives think that the will of the people should be treated as a whole, that even if one persons thought is okay with the majority as long as it offends one person it should be banned. That's an idiology and that is ignorant. Were a nation of individuals and as long as there are pushers of this prograssive idiology there will be fools like you, that don't understand why there is a multi party system, why some idiologies are impossible, and why the funders had enough sense to write words to protect us from destructive idiologies, fortunately xfor us, we don't think alike, and you sir to get me to think like you and act like you will have to ignore the words of the people that came before you and rule with an iron fist and you call him ignorant. Here is a lession to learn, bush and oboma are both progressives... go read a history book. Hope and change...hope brought on by fear and change we can't even sustain. Here instead of waiting for a hand out, live for yourself... there's a thought.

Its liberal bs just like "White Flag Warrior" which litterally translates "Oxymoron". Keep your freakin political views out of your music. "Why Cant we all just get along" (pubescent nasal weakling voice). Rap-Rock ~~~~vomit

haha conservatives and liberals have the same funding, you think the parties are separate?

There may be chaos going on in the world. But the chaos going on in our world. Our cities, neighborhoods, homes. That stuff

To say this song is liberal B.S. shows a great deal of ignorance on your part. It doesn't matter if you choose to define yourself as "liberal" or "conservative". This song is simply about striving to make the world a better place. We see a great void between two political parties, worse than ever before and getting increasingly worse every year. This song is about coming together to face issues of importance, and not focusing on meaningless circular issues, "liberal vs conservative".
