Such a powerful song, I think they really have tried to encompass gallipoli and heath ledgers death into the song, hence the turkish music, the fact that they were in new york at the time of ledgers death is a big factor aswell. Overall I just love the song, such beautifully written lyrics :)

i smell the blood of an australian represents the media 'sniffing' out heath in his death, wanting to get pictures. they can practically 'smell his blood' being in a foreign land (new york)he was alone and people were disrespectful, when they should've been mourning his death.
