Emarosa - We Are Life Lyrics

Artist: Emarosa

Album: Emarosa

Genre: Rock

(*Jonny Craig, Emarosa / *Prod. by Brian McTernan)

I ache, it's opening my soul (my soul)*
I ache, it's opening...

Speak what we feel,
And not what we ought to say.
Well, I'm forever young
And you're forever you.

So much to say
But nothing to hide.
Ohh, please open it all.
Soft voice, that whispers lies.
Who do I lay beside?
Soft voice, soft voice,
That whispers lies.

Well, I don't want to see it anymore.
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore.
But I won't be played a fool.
Well, I don't want to see it anymore.
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore.
But I won't be played a fool.

Did you count how many times
The words left my mouth?
So many times I was pressed on top.
You never pushed me off.
As much as it hurts to admit,
You just...

Well, I don't want to see it anymore.
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore.
But I won't be played a fool.
Well, I don't want to see it anymore.
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore.
But I won't be played a fool.

No matter how hard you'll try
These words won't save me
Please stop, slow your speech.
Soft hands that would ruin lives,
And eyes that would burn.
Fall to your knees.

You pretend not to see our problems,
Because they form inside you.

Well, I don't want to see it anymore.
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore.
But I won't be played a fool.
Well, I don't want to see it anymore.
Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore.
But I won't be played a fool.

its not "you just" its "you jumped" and it doesnt sound like "fall to your knees" maybe its "full cities"?

I think it's talking about how he fell for a girl that said she loved him back, when she really didn't. Hence him saying he aches and that he's pouring out his soul in the first verse, due to a 'broken heart' I'm assuming. He also says "Speak what we feel, and not what we ought to say" which I take as the girl was saying she loved him because she didn't want to hurt him, even though it's not how she really felt. The rest of the song just goes more in depth about his specific situation. "Soft voice, that whispers lies. Who do I lay beside?" The girl he loves either has feelings for another guy or cheated on him or something along those lines. "Too bad he's not me and these feelings you just can't ignore." Could MAYBE be a way of saying he wishes he is the guy she's with now? It could also mean that it's a shame she has to go to another guy to fill something that their relationship doesn't have --> "You pretend not to see our problems, because they form inside you." The last part of the quote from the chorus could mean that despite all of the obvious reasons to leave/forget about this girl, he can't ignore the strong feelings he has for her.

This is just what I got out of the lyrics. There are a million different messages that a million different people can pull out of a song's lyrics so I don't think any are necessarily "right" or "wrong". Though I definitely feel that this song was written to express a feeling a lot heavier than "a connection you feel" to a person and them finding out lol. I think some songs just deserve to be looked in to a lot more than what the chorus makes you think of.

A connection you feel and you cant hide it cuz he knows and you know its hard to ignore because its how you feel.
