Vocalist Jacob Bannon said that this song is about holding his dog as she died in his arms, and realizing all he neglected while Converge toured all these years. Perhaps “Aimless Arrow“ was autobiographical. Both tracks separate heart-wrenching emotion from “emo” in their sacrifice and loss.
