Circa Survive - Get Out Lyrics

Artist: Circa Survive

Album: Blue Sky Noise

Genre: Rock

I can't get started from the part where I left off yesterday*
Should have spent my time a little wiser
I sat alone
Guilty as sin
Waiting for words to come
From out of my head
Still making sense to anyone

I can't wait to understand the reason
I've yet to translate any meaning
Besides, it's not worth it to try
Get out
Get out

Locked myself up in a room without a window
Just to see
If it was any easier to breathe
(I was wrong)
Never underestimate the daylight
There, it's so much easier to breathe

I can't wait to understand the reason
I've yet to translate any meaning
Besides, it's not worth it to try
Get out
Get out
Get out
Get out

There's no meaning
Besides, it's not worth it to try
Get out
Get out
Get out
Get out

Get out
Yeah

this song is straightforward. he started to write a song yesterday and today he can't remember why he wrote what he did and it's frustrating for him to try and get back to the place he was in when he was writing the song, he has no idea how to recollect the thoughts that were going through his head as he was writing and now feels it's useless to try to continue writing the song. he tries to center himself by sitting in a quiet room as well as by being outside alone with his thoughts in an attempt to remember why he was writing the song but finds nothing but frustration, expressed through repetition of "get out"

it took me a couple listens to understand, but i think what he means is that he doesnt want to find the right words because the words wouldnt be enough, they wouldnt give him the same satisfaction they did before.

i believe it is about figuring out oneself and the world we live in. obsessing over what is true we get so far in one day, just to realize tomorrow that we cannot pick up where we left off. so we start over. after countless days the only answer is that there is no reason to try because there is no positive outcome. this obsessive thought process must get out. dont lock yourself up in that thought process. it mimics very confined quarters... just leave and breath.. it really is so much easier....

I think anthony is saying how hes writing a song and he doesnt want to write it to make sense to others and hes feels guilty for it. But then he writes lyrics to lock everyone out and its the other extreme and how being in the "daylight" is so much easier to breath, so the words need to just get out of his head.
