Bloodrock - D.o.a. Lyrics

Artist: Bloodrock

Album: Miscellaneous

Genre: Rock

I remember, we were flying a-low,
And hit something in the air

Laying here, looking at the ceiling,
Someone lays a sheet across my chest.
Something warm is flowing down my fingers
Pain is flowing all through my back.

I try to move my arm and there's no feeling
And when I look, I see there's nothing there.
The face beside me stopped bleeding
The girl I knew has such a distant stare.

I remember, we were flying a-low,
And hit something in the air.

Then I look straight at the attendant,
His face is pale as it can be.
He bends and whispers something softly,
He says there's no chance for me.

I remember, we were flying a-low,
And hit something in the air.

Life is flowing out my body,
Pain is flowing out with my blood.
The sheets are red and moist where I'm lying.
God in Heaven, teach me how to die.

I remember, we were flying a-low,
And hit something in the air.

i had never heard this song until now (2009) and it caught my attention too. per alice cooper and something i read on the internet it has something to do with a plane crash in which several people die. if you read the lyrics and think about it, this is really creepy......

AS A TEENAGER IN THE 70'S, THIS SONG NOT ONLY CAUGHT MY ATTENTION LYRICLLY, BUT IT ALSO SENT A MESSAGE TO ALOT OF PEOPLE EARLY ON, NOT TO DRINK AND DRIVE.
THE SONG MAY HAVE BEEN A NIGHTMARE BUT COULD JUST AS EASALY BEEN REAL.

Okay, I'll be your first comment I suppose, attended college in the 70's when this song came out, heard it on a friend's turntable and it really grabbed my attention... I was studying medicine and felt that this was a very expressive song of what it must feel to be close to dying and unable to communicate with those around you. A bit of confusion and peace at the same time, inner conflict and no control... made me really consider who I accepted rides from to and from college on the weekends... would rather be in control of my own driving and try to avoid accidents... I assume this person was slowing dying as a result of an accident... possible a bad car crash where he was sent 'flying through the air'.... not sure, not important... but that death is always an uncertaintly.... wow, I always wondered about this song... best wishes to whomever is reading these comments...
