  I feel like she's alluding to the spirit of the day when Gabriel comes to tell Mary that she will bear a son, assuming Mary must have felt lost, but that the angel's words comforted her, and the gift God gave was worth it all. The beloved in the song is the singer's gift, provided by the grace of God, just as Jesus was provided to Mary.
