Honestly i think it's about somebody who lost somebody important to them, or they feel like life is treating them rough, enough to shake their faith in god.

From what I have heard about this song it is supposed to be from the point of view of the devil, like the devil's story. I also heard that there is suppose to be a part two from god's point of view. I do not know if either of these are true but it would make sense.

If you want to do a shallow thought of it you would think that "Hmm I'm guessing he doesn't believe in God. Apparently never has and probably never will." Despite the deeper lyrics sometimes the meaning only requires shallow thinking. As a lyricist, I try to give every song deep thought but when I where this one I only get the message that he doesn't believe in God.

well it is called "morte et dabo" which i believe can be translated into "the gift of death" so that would make sense considering God gave his son to die for our sins.

So I know everyone thinks this songs against God and all, but I think that it's actually God's perspective. The harsh vocals in the song (the end excluded) seem to be about converting someone, while the clean vocals are obviously against the harsh vocals.
