All Time Low - Stella Lyrics

Artist: All Time Low

Album: Nothing Personal

  • Songwriters: Jack Bassam Barakat, Robert Ryan Dawson, Alexander Gaskarth, Zachary Steven Merrick, Matt Squire

3 p.m., on my feet and staggering
Through misplaced words
And a sinking feeling, I got carried away

Sick, sick of sleeping on the floor
Another night, another score
I'm jaded, bottles breaking

You're only happy when I'm wasted
I point my finger but I just can't place it
Feels like I'm falling in love
When I'm falling to the bathroom floor

I remember how you tasted
I've had you so many times, let's face it
Feels like I'm falling in love alone
Stella, would you take me home?
Stella, would you take me home?

2 a.m., I'm on a blackout binge again
You know I don't need sleep
And I lost my keys, but I got so many friends

And they keep, keep me coming back for more
Another night, another score
I'm faded, bottles breaking

You're only happy when I'm wasted
I point my finger but I just can't place it
Feels like I'm falling in love
When I'm falling to the bathroom floor

I remember how you tasted
I've had you so many times, let's face it
Feels like I'm falling in love alone
Stella, would you take me home?

One more reason, I should never have met you
Just another reason I could never forget you
Down we go
The room's spinning out of control

Lose myself in a chemical moment
The night life's taking its toll
That's just the way it goes
Come on, Stella, would you take me home?

You're only happy when I'm wasted
I point my finger but I just can't place it
Feels like I'm falling in love alone
Stella, would you take me home?

You're only happy when I'm wasted
I point my finger but I just can't place it
Feels like I'm falling in love
When I'm falling to the bathroom floor

I remember how you tasted
I've had you so many times
Feels like I'm falling in love alone
Stella, would you take me home?

You're only happy when I'm wasted
I point my finger but I just can't place it
Feels like I'm falling in love
When I'm falling to the bathroom floor

I remember how you tasted
I've had you so many times, let's face it

I don't understand some of these so called 'fans' these days. Honestly, band GROW UP, get over it. If you haven't noticed, Alex isn't a teenager anymore, therefore, his voice changed, and so did his writing style. And clearly you aren't 'true' fans if you hate every new song that they make. Alex said himself that bands grow up, they can't the same forever. Also the song 'Holly, would you turn me on?' is about Hollywood, Alex explained that in an interview a long time ago. Stop bashing All Time Low "True fans"

you all "tru fans" are ridicilous. i have personally been listening to atl since the ep and now when they are finally properly breaking through i (and you all should be!) am only happy for my favourite band because they are going places. deal with it and stop bashing your band. atl holds a place in my heart forever.

it dosnt mattter what the sing or if there changing, like the songs you like and leave it at that. All bands change cos if they stayed the same we'd all still be listening to the same thing people were 545698076534689654 of years ago. leave the bands alone to do what they want with there lifes, miss the more acousticy songs, go listen to somethimg more acoustic or a acoustic song from all time low, prefer the poppy stuff, listen to it.

right is this song about the beer or a person, all these comments confuse me lol. maybe im just thick :/ all time is awesome cant get enough of them lol especially jack :D

  • Anonymous

jonas brothers wtf? they're like total goody goodies :L cant really imagine them singing about getting wasted and stuff :P

  • Anonymous

i saw them on their last tour,
alex even said that it's about the beer stella.
    not a girl.

  • Anonymous

ok...maybe the melodys and stuff are a little poppier but come off it, would the jonas brothers have the balls to sing these lyrics? my personal oppinion of the record is that its awesome.

  • Anonymous

Yeah this song is very much about getting wasted! listen to the lyrics... someones is obviously very drunk!

  • Anonymous

It is actually about the beer, he said at a gig I saw them it. He was asking the crowd who liked getting wasted and then said this song it about getting pissed.

  • Anonymous

THEY COULD NEVER SUCK LIKE THE JONAS BROTHERS DO!!! NEVER SAY THAT AGAIN, WHO EVER YOU ARE!!! All Time Low is a bit pop-er than before, but they still sound great! Besides, the Jonas Brothers are like oranges to ATL's apples. JB's are mad innocent and kid-like. ATL is the opposite.

  • Anonymous

Holly (Would You Turn Me On) is about Hollywood, California. (Think: Hollywood, you turn me on.)

Stella isn't about the beer. It's about a girl Alex knows. He said it at a show my friend was at. *shrug*

I've been listening to them for a good three years now. Definitely a great band.

nothing personal is a phenomenal album, gooood work atl! & weightless is totally my favorite from the album, followed by stella of course.

  • Anonymous

They are definitely more poppy. But I do still enjoy it. And the lyrics are really still the same old All Time Low. I think that Nothing Personal opens a them to a whole new group of people to their music.

  • Anonymous

Compared to Alt Rock bands, yeah, they are really poppy. I think it's because ATL can also be defined as Pop Rock. (:

  • Anonymous

been listening to them for 4 years. i love them so much. they only get better. and this song is amazing.

  • Anonymous

totally about the beer stella :)
atl always have been good always will be o_O

    :D

  • Anonymous

uhh whoever said that "this defiantly reminds me of Holly would you turn me on? haha. looks like Alex has moved on from her :)" this song is about a drink. haha. yeah this my favorite from the album too:)

  • Anonymous

I agree with whoever said it reminds them of Holly (Would You Turn Me On?). Thats the song that popped into my head when I heard Stella for the first time.
But seriously, what does it matter if they've changed? In my opinion they sound the same as they did on So Wrong, It's Right. And to people who say they are going very poppy - compared to a lot of "Alternative Rock" bands, they are very very pop.
I will love them no matter what, I think Nothing Personal is an awesome album :)

  • Anonymous

i love them no matter what. when i think about it, the songs still sound like them.

to the person who said, weightless, damned, and stella are the only songs that sound like them. and the rest are really poppy. i was thinking weightless was the least them and the most poppy. not sure what your talking about.

  • Anonymous

I still love them, I mean LOOK AT THE LYRICS! They're still the same old All Time Low. You shouldn't be mad since they're getting famous, you should be happy for them. They're not "our little secret" anymore. Deal with it.

  • Anonymous

i love that he wrote a lovesong to beer. it's awesome. and so very, very alex xD gotta love those boys.

  • Anonymous

this song is most deffinetly one of my very favorites from their new album :)

  • Anonymous

this defiantly reminds me of Holly would you turn me on? haha. looks like Alex has moved on from her :)

  • Anonymous

this song is like one of my top favorites!!!

  • Anonymous

hm, bands change, change their image..
i still will love all time low if they do turn all mainstreem and popish..
they still have amazing lyrics and no matter what anyone says alex's voice is drool worthy.
    they're an amazing band, period

Only 3 good songs on this album, Weightless, DIDY,and Stella. possibly therapy or the remix of lost in stereo. They put a vocal tuning software on his voice when it is totally pointless. It just makes it sound fake when he's actually a really good singer.

  • Anonymous

    (: i love this song.

  • Anonymous

One of my favorite songs on the new album!
