Alan Jackson - Sissy's Song Lyrics

Artist: Alan Jackson

Album: Good Time

  • Songwriters: Alan Jackson

Why did she have to go
So young I just don't know why
Things happen half the time
Without reason, without rhyme

Lovely, sweet young woman
Daughter, wife and mother
Makes no sense to me
I just have to believe

She flew up to heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waitin'
And I know she's smilin' sayin', ‽Don't worry 'bout me”

Loved ones she left behind
Just tryin' to survive
And understand the why
Feelin' so lost inside

Anger shot straight at God
Then askin' for His love
Empty with disbelief
Just hopin' that maybe

She flew up to heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waitin'
And I know she's smilin' sayin', ‽Don't worry 'bout me”

It's hard to say goodbye
Her picture in my mind
Will always be of times I'll cherish
And I won't cry 'cause

She flew up to heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waitin'
And I know she's smilin' sayin', ‽Don't worry 'bout me
Don't worry 'bout me, don't worry 'bout me”

I lost my best friend that I knew since second grade on June 14 2010. I heard this song before she passed. She was only 24 years old and a mother of a 6 year old boy. She had cancer. Somedays are hard to go on but I know she wouldn't want be to give up. She never gave up. The lyrics just fit and I know that she is in heaven watching everything. I love you Nicole! She was more of a sister than a best friend.

thank you for this song. i first heard it when my mom was addmitted into the hospital.7 weeks later she passed away June 27 2009 . I played this song at her funeral it brought everybody to tears. At the end of the cemetary service a gust of wind came and we knew she flew up to heaven on the wings of an angel. our mom was 66 when she passed. she is with god now and we know she is happy we miss her daily. I play this song everytime I have this moment when I need her. I know she is watching our us and telling us not to worry moments in time are brief until we meet again.

This song makes me cry every time I hear it. I just lost my mother June 5th. Funny because I had never heard the song until I was on my was home from the Hospital the night my mother passed away. I means a lot to me because the lyrics fit my mother. she was 43 when she passed and she doesn't want us to cry cause she is in a better place. I miss you and love you mom.

There was a memorial service yesterday for a high school friend of mine. We just graduated this year. This song played at her service. Now when I hear this song, all I can do is think about her.. I miss her terribly. But like the song says, she's probably smiling down and saying, "Don't worry about me."
