This is such a hauntingly beautiful song. The high notes are incredible, and and even when the song mellows out, it still has that sing that makes it perfect. Another great son from Adam Lambert. I think it means something about heartbreak. "Guess it was not meant to be, It's not as bad as it seems." it sounds like he's suffering from losing his love, and he can't stand the pain "It only burns when I breathe, you saw the way that I fell." It sounds like he's in love but he has to let that person go because he doesn't want to hurt them, but no matter what he does, he can't stop hurting them. He's making excuses to try and let them go, but they can't because they love him too. "But I'm better off by myself, that's the tale I like to tell." It seems like it's hard for him to let go.
