30 Seconds To Mars - Kings And Queens Lyrics

Artist: 30 Seconds To Mars

Album: This Is War

  • Songwriters: Jared Leto

Into the night
Desperate and broken
The sound of a fight
Father has spoken

We were the kings and queens of promise
We were the victims of ourselves
Maybe the children of a lesser God
Between heaven and hell
Heaven and hell

Into your eyes
Hopeless and taken
We stole our new lives
Through blood and pain
In defense of our dreams
In defense of our dreams

We were the kings and queens of promise
We were the victims of ourselves
Maybe the children of a lesser God
Between heaven and hell
Heaven and hell

The age of man is over
A darkness comes and all
These lessons that we've learned here
Have only just begun

We were the kings and queens of promise
We were the victims of ourselves
Maybe the children of a lesser God
Between heaven and hell

We are the kings
We are the queens
We are the kings
We are the queens

At the first it said about the war and then it told that we were the kings and qeens(adam n eve) of promice means how true god made us perfect but now we r victim of our acts(war, lust etc) and it felt like we were worshipin some other god or devil in this world(between heaven and hell) that what thay meant i thinka. In the end after loosing everythin people gain there conciousness about there insainness and come to regain there faith in true god become the man and woman of true ideal.

I cry every time i listen to any of their songs.
    Jared is one amazing guy.
Beautiful, true, unqiue words to every music peice.
    He truly is astounding.
No other band could ever try to compete with their music.

i think it is talking about war back in the day and how we thought this would help our future and children by fighting off enemies and claiming land.

The banksy reference says it all, the anarchists against the system. protest because we must resist homoginisation of the species, we need change, difference.

the parents / system thinks were wild hopless and broken, but were fighting for a brave new world.

We stole our new lives through blood and pain, in defense of our dreams...beautiful.

What is the meaning behind this son? Good question. I am not Jared Leto (I wish) but I think it is about generation 'Y' and the down fall because of the recession. I believe it is a song of hope. If i'm not right then please correct me. thanks kiwikarl at hotmail.com
